This little fishy was hand cut from scrap wood. The beauty of this object is in its detail and layers. Every look will bring new surprises. Each layer is lovingly laid down, allowed to dry and then the next layer until complete.

The first layer is paper collage including pieces ripped from fine Japanese papers, a coupon from a fair, a dry cleaning number stub, Chinese sweets package and dried flower petals.

The second layer is chalk pastel drawings which is fixed using acrylic gel medium. Numerous layers of acrylic paint is applied to add detail, texture and pattern. Beads and thread are then attached to give a little sparkle. Each fish is protected using water-based varnish

The predominant colours on this fish are oranges and reds.

This fish stands on its own as shown. If buyer wants to hang it a small hole can be drilled into the nose to accommodate fishing line.
