This little fishy was hand cut from scrap plywood. The beauty of this object is in its detail and layers. Every look will bring new surprises. Each layer is lovingly laid down, allowed to dry and then the next layer until complete.

Designs have been inscribed into the surface of the wood. Then a layer of collage which includes ripped pieces of fine Japanese papers, a dry cleaning number tag, stamps from the UK, gauze and dried flowers. Numerous layers of acrylic paint were applied to add detail, depth, texture and pattern. It has been protected using layers of water-based varnish.

The predominant colours on this fish are purples, blues and pinks.

This piece makes a beautiful and unique accent in any home or office.

There is a small hole drilled in the nose for hanging.
