The beauty of this object is in its detail and layers. Every look will bring new surprises. Each layer is lovingly laid down, allowed to dry and then the next layer until complete.

The first layer is collage and incorporates fine Japanese papers and dried daisies. The second layer is chalk pastel drawings which is fixed using acrylic gel medium. Numerous layers of acrylic paint is applied to add detail, texture and pattern. The predominant colours on this fish are reds and oranges. Beads and thread are then attached to give a little sparkle. Each fish gets 4 layers of water-based varnish to protect the collage.

This little fishie was hand cut from scrap plywood. There is a small hole drilled in the nose for hanging. This item makes a beautiful and unique accent in any home or office.
