Wood, dried flowers, chalk pastel, acrylic paint, beads and water-based varnish.

This little fishie was hand cut from scrap plywood. The beauty of this object is in its detail and layers. Every look will bring new surprises.
Each layer is lovingly laid down, allowed to dry and then the next layer until complete. Collaged paper, dried flowers and chalk pastel makes up the first layer of decoration on this one-of-a-kind item. Numerous layers of acrylic paint were applied to add detail, texture and pattern. The predominant colours on this fish are purples, pinks and lime greens. It has been protected using layers of water-based varnish and embellished with beads.
There is a small hole drilled in the nose for hanging.
